If you are still experiencing smoke when you use the Foodi Grill, maybe it’s time to reevaluate your cooking temperatures. Nothing will get ruined cooking at a lower temperature so try scaling back the heat a bit. Other people have experienced less smoke when putting some water in the main cook pan.
Does the Ninja Foodi grill smoke?
Despite the Ninja Foodi clearly being a thoughtfully engineered product, I worried it would smoke my family out of the house. Didn’t happen. There was smoke, sure, but the grill circulates air and has a grease guard, so there was no problem even as I heaped meat on the thing.
Is Steam supposed to come out of Ninja Foodi?
The Ninja Foodi has to heat the water to create the steam needed to come under pressure. During this time, you may see steam escaping from the black valve and/or the red button on the top of the lid. This is normal. If you see steam coming out around the whole lid, this is not normal.

How do you clean the lid on an air fryer?
Wipe the Air Fryer Lid with a soft, damp cloth or sponge to remove any residue from packing materials. Never rinse the lid under the tap. Wash the accessories in your dishwasher or with hot water and dish soap before using them for the first time.
Can I put aluminum foil in the air fryer?
You can typically use foil as long as you leave space for air flow. The air fryer pushes hot air all around the food. If the air is blocked by foil, it cannot cook the food properly. So when you place your foil in the air fryer you do not want to cover up all the holes of the air fryer basket or air fryer tray.
Can you use olive oil Ninja Foodi grill?
Ninja specifically states to NOT cook any foods in the Ninja Foodi Grill with olive oil. If you marinate your foods I would suggest to just pat them dry a little bit before you put them into the Foodi Grill; it’s just better to be safer than sorry, and it’s less wear and tear on your Foodi Grill over time.
Can I put foil in the bottom of my air fryer?
Only place foil in the bottom of the cooking basket. Do not place foil in the bottom of pan where grease and food particles fall. Keep your foil in the cooking basket only. Don’t cover the entirety of the basket with aluminum foil — your air fryer needs some of these holes to be exposed for proper air flow and cooking.
